When I combined the above test results with those from printing our separate PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint documents comprised of color, graphics, and photos, the MFC-L8900CDW didn't fare as well as its competitors. With print speeds of up to 31ppm in monochrome and colour, the Brother MFC-L8900CDW A4 colour laser printer is an excellent choice for workgroups who have higher print volumes that require low-cost printing. Finally, the MFC-L8900CDW printed our test snapshots at an average of 18 seconds, which was the slowest among the printers we've noted here, but not enough to be concerned about. But first, let's talk about text quality, which is superb—near typesetter quality down to the smallest size we test (4 points) for common serif and sans-serif fonts. Our test decorative fonts, too, printed well at smaller point sizes than we usually see. Text quality is highly acceptable for all business applications across the board.
