About this deal

While extraordinary, Murphy falters just before the final hurdle. The book ends in very biblical manner with revelations, although these make sense, and a slight leap into the future for some consequences, but before that Chris’ development, until then so believable, has come shuddering to a halt. He’s the dark mirror image of what his mother was when only slightly older. Would I recommend this to anyone? No. I don’t really regret reading it because it was mildly entertaining and only took me a day. And I gave it an “it was okay” 2 star rating, so really it all just feels like a mild disappointment. Imagine the Truman Show, except with a clone of Jesus Christ, made with DNA samples taken from the Shroud of Turin...and implanted in a Teenage Virgin. Biopunk: The moral and theological implications of attempting to clone a religious figure are the foundation for the central conflict of the whole story. The ending was unbelievably anti-climactic. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but prepare yourself for a turd. It felt like Murphy had about 10 minutes left to wrap the whole thing up and just rushed through the motions.

GRAPHIC NOVEL GUIDE

And then, everything starts to fall apart, until the moment where Chris became what you see in the cover of the book. Batman: Beyond the White Knight (script and art, with Dave Stewart, sequel to Batman: White Knight and Batman: Curse of the White Knight, eight-issue limited series, DC Comics, March 2022 - February 2023)

Boom, Headshot!: Thomas does this to his Uncle Sully, after finding out he was the one who killed his father. With an assault rifle. On full auto. OK? Now imagine what could possibly go wrong with a teenaged girl giving birth on TV...Teen Mom? Yup. Times a billion. In my opinion, the most worthwhile thing you can ever do in comics is write and draw your own book. While it might not pay as much as a company book (at least not right away), there's nothing more satisfying than sitting down at a show where other artists are drawing characters they don't own, while everyone in your line wants drawings of characters you created from scratch. And being an artist/writer, you get more respect, a stronger connection to your readers and a lot more paid invites to far away conventions. I think there’s some confusion in this book on the difference between killing and murder. I say this regarding the scene where Thomas is freaked out that he’s going to Hell after killing people in an attempt to save lives because he thought it’s murder but... it’s not murder (“unlawful killing without justification”) if it’s to save lives. If Murphy’s other work is this clever I’m interested. It has a very interesting story, it has pretty interesting characters that I cared about, there’s some sweet action scenes, it’s pretty humorous and there’s some clever, interesting social commentary. However, there are quite a few flaws.

He is also the creator of the Murphyverse, a sub-continuity that serves as the setting for stories featuring Batman that is separate from the main DC Universe continuity. These include Batman: White Knight and its sequels Curse of the White Knight and Beyond the White Knight, which Murphy wrote and illustrated. Even more so than box office champions like Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man, the Jesus Christ of pop culture is arguably one of the most exposed character in the history of humans telling each other stories. From the New Testament to Jesus Christ Superstar, to various cameos on South Park, to The Passion of the Christ, to Loaded Bible: Jesus vs. Vampires, and all the iterations in between, The Son of God has largely tread the same ground with little innovation devoted to his continued narratives. The book means a lot to me, so I'm working extra hard on the art. Maybe part of me is afraid that people will think that the writing is no good, and by increasing the level of art I'm hoping to convince them I'm a better writer than I really am.It's nice that despite being an acclaimed artist, he has his own stories to tell. Hope to read more from him in the future.

In 2005 he published his first original graphic novel, Off Road, which went on to win an American Library Association Award for young adults. [1] The story is pretty interesting. There’s no denying it’s unique. I also think it’s interesting as sure, it is sacrilegious science fiction but it’s also oddly fitting. As this story points out, Jesus was against the government and religions of his time so in a more modern setting it makes sense to make him punk. Not to mention, all the stuff about the show and controversy before he becomes punk is fairly interesting. Cyberpunk: More emphasis is given to the "punk" end, but corporate corruption and advanced computer technology also feature prominently. Evil Parents Want Good Kids: Thomas' father agreed to turn informant against the IRA because he didn't want his son to get involved in the conflict. Unfortunately, his brother happened to be a member of the IRA, and killed him before he could reveal anything, then ended up recruiting Thomas into the IRA anyway, making his father's sacrifice meaningless. Batman: White Knight (script and art, with Matt Hollingsworth, eight-issue limited series, DC Comics, October 2017 - May 2018)When the Helicopter is going down, Chris and Co. are all together, but when it crashes, Chris is death between the choppers while the rest of the gang is perfectly safe far from him, how?! (also did you noticed the "apologies to michelangelo" not in that panel? that was funny, I didn´t see it the first time, I think I was really in the story). Also, I don't think I've seen a real "punk" since the 1980's, the term, fashion, and lifestyle is out of date yet this is supposed to take place in the near future, but I guess HIPSTER JESUS doesn't have the same marketing appeal.
