About this deal

This superlative translation by noted scholar and theologian R. H. Charles is one of the best and most complete available. And she is partially right. But the book got clouded by this other stuff, by her and not her message. Also it just got plain ole repetitive. Do I need 1000 (exaggeration) stories of the same thing to get ur point? I have encountered pets in hundreds of readings, and they always appear as happy bundles of light and energy. While they’re with us, they are our teachers, sharing profound lessons about unconditional love—lessons they are uniquely suited to teach. And when they cross, they remain connected to us in real and powerful ways, providing hope and comfort and support and, of course, everlasting love.” When we sleep, our brains go offline. We drift away from consciousness. The noise and the static quiet. Our brains shift in and out of the frontal lobe. We enter into something called slow-wave sleep, and beyond that, REM sleep—the deepest level of sleep, the state in which we dream. Ironically, our brains are nearly as active during REM sleep as they are during waking life, with remarkable bursts of electrical activity.” If you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person. —FRED ROGERS”

It tells us how we can ask our deceased loved ones to give us signs from the other side to let us know they’re okay. After the lecture portion of the event concluded, all the speakers and attendees were ushered outside, into a big open space where lunch was being served. I turned a corner and saw big wooden tables leading into the main dining area. They were there for decorative reasons, to establish a mood, and normally they’d be covered with fresh flowers or plants or some other lovely arrangements. The oranges, to me, were a startlingly clear exchange—I asked, and the universe answered. And yet this call-and-response isn’t always easy to see. The clutter and doubt, the fear and noise that come with everyday living can obscure our ability to perceive things that aren’t so obvious. We are all distinct instruments, playing our separate beautiful notes, and it is our job to play them as best we can—but when we all play together, we produce a magnificent symphony that lifts us all and makes sense of our individual roles.” So I have a note named “bday “ on my phone where I have made a note of bdays for the upcoming days and the gifts I want to give. This is just me planning ahead . I paused, trying to decide if I should share what I was getting. But since Maximo had opened the conversation, I felt it would be okay. This most hopeful work is a peek behind the scenes of the universe, reading it is like receiving a private message from God. Its essence is this: While one’s body is temporary, one’s love lives forever. What a thought!” —Mark Epstein, MD, author of Advice Not Given: A Guide to Getting Over Yourself There were parts I like and parts I didn’t. The beginning and end were good but the middle was a slog. I believe in signs and that there’s more to the world and all, I just don’t believe with all the specific things she had put together to explain it all. I think she makes it too easy and makes the world seem too pretty, which brings me to my main qualm. It’s easy for me, a rich white girl, to believe all is great despite a few hiccups. But how could other people, people less fortunate than me, buy into that? How could a widow in Syria who lost all her kids and has nothing say life is great and all about togetherness and love?

Sometimes, the sign is the whisper in our heart, the deep and undeniable pull, the inherent knowing that the answer is already there.... If we are open to this, it will truly enrich our lives. Because life is so much more than we can see in this dimension.” I didn’t say anything at first; in fact, it was the driver, a pleasant middle-aged man named Maximo, who spoke first. And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. —ROALD DAHL” I borrowed a copy of this book from the library. All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for this review. Maximo told me how he had forgotten that conversation by the time Virgil crossed in his early 20s. But then, one day, Maximo’s young daughter came home and announced her new obsession.Once the author asked for an orange to be put in her path as a sign, and came across a decoration with thousands of oranges. When we ask for a specific sign we may be sent it dozens of times in various creative ways. It has been said that people cross our paths and enter our lives as either a blessing or a lesson. Often, it is both. Either they have something to teach us, or we have something to teach them, or, at best, we have something to teach each other. That is how this great chain of light and interconnection works.”

This stirring guide . . . asserts that anyone can learn to understand messages that are sent from the 'Other Side.' . . . For readers struggling with loss who believe it's possible to communicate with the deceased, this book will console and empower them to look beyond their suffering ( Publishers Weekly) A classic since 1928, this masterly encyclopedia of ancient mythology, ritual, symbolism, and the arcane mysteries of the ages is available for the first time in a compact "reader's edition."Art in all its forms is a kind of dialogue between us and the entirety of existence, past, present, and future. It is us elevating our lives by elevating our energy.” Please understand I am not a skeptic, I believe that there are signs in our universe, but this book does nothing to further tuning into those signs or learning about them outside of a "god-based" belief system. All perspectives are from a Christian view-point and that is not how the book presents itself. There's an entire chapter that discusses a woman being talked out of her abortion by her dead father because she "chose love", a chapter on prayer, and consistent references to Jesus. If this book is meant to be Christian literature then please label it as such. A modern guide to connecting with the other side, Signs is full of stories of hope. It teaches us how to recognise and interpret the life-changing messages from loved ones and spirit guides, by a renowned psychic medium. We feel called to something bigger in our lives. We might not know exactly what that is, but we can feel it in our bones.” Thoughts can be both exhilarating and terrifying, because thoughts imply action, and action leads to change, and change is incredibly powerful.”

However, despite asking numerous times, I have not myself received any signs from passed loved ones, so this was disappointing. Book Genre: Adult, Fantasy, Metaphysics, Nonfiction, Occult, Paranormal, Philosophy, Self Help, Spirituality, Witchcraft This stirring guide . . . asserts that anyone can learn to understand messages that are sent from the ‘Other Side.’ . . . For readers struggling with loss who believe it’s possible to communicate with the deceased, this book will console and empower them to look beyond their suffering.” — Publishers Weekly often asked if our pets cross to the Other Side and if they, too, can send us signs. The answer to both is yes. The animals we loved so dearly here on earth are indeed on the Other Side. And once they’re there, they can—and do—send us amazing signs.” Why is he giving me a bowl of cereal?” I asked the driver. “Why does he want me to talk to you about cereal?”The opening paragraph says that is no accident that this book came to me, I thought that was a strong message. Anyway, the author goes on to tell stories of people receiving signs from their loved ones when they asked. I wished fervently that my mom would send me a dragonfly again because I hadn’t seen one from her in a long time. She is crazy about the Ninja Turtles,” Maximo told me. “Suddenly she has to have everything with a Ninja Turtle. It came out of nowhere. I knew that was Virgil coming around, and that he was watching over her. I knew it was a sign for me, too.” Our job is never, ever to follow a path of hate. Our highest and brightest life paths are always paths of love.”
