About this deal

The same goes for the IMR EDP and EDP Ace, again like the I3s, the EDPs have been overshadowed by the S12 Pros for me. The EDP Ace however, comes fairly close with its DD bass and the note decay probably aided by piezo, the Planar Magnetic driver, if not the design of the chamber. Damage due to user negl There is plenty of energy here and a touch of brilliance but only as much as is needed for giving a shining and luminous character to the sound never crossing the point to harshness and stridency.

Please note that I have an eclectic taste in music, and in headphones and earphones, as I do not believe in having multiples of the same sound signature. The fact that they are differently tuned is not an issue for me. What I want to hear is good tuning, if it is tuned with emphasis on bass good, midrange good, highs good. LETSHUOER also dabbles in cables and sources, such as the M5 and DT02, respectively. Technical SpecificationsThe S12 PRO is resolving, crystal clear and transparent in the mid-range with a natural voicing that is combined with the already excellent bass performance to make for an immersive and realistic listening experience perfectly suitable for classical music and not only. Entirely made of aluminum, the Letshuoer S12 Pro is a revamp of the brand’s previous planar IEM, the… S12. A visual upgrade mostly as both share the same CNC-milled case, but the Pro model now comes with a deep blue finish, for a more premium look. It wouldn’t dare to say that they are bad-looking, but compared to products from BGVP, or even the latest FiiO FD11, the end-result is kinda… conservative. Letshuoer Audio 𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆.

I just wish the tuning changes were more than just a couple of dB of bass boost. As far as collaborations go, the Letshuoer Z12 is fairly vanilla, with the color scheme adding most of the glamor. The Timeless, as alluded to, were the spark plugs that drove the full force of the current planar hype down on our wallets. HEYDAY has a warmer, U-shaped sound profile. It has a more punchy and solid mid bass response, a warmer midrange to give more texture on male vocals and brass instruments. The treble register is rather safe and balanced which exudes less shimmering and less sparkling compared to S12 PRO.

Clarity, layering and definition are above average while the bass is tight, fast and controlled with good timing. Please keep in mind that the opinions expressed in this review are subjective and based on my personal experience with the unit. I encourage you to try the product yourself to form your own opinion. It is well contrasted and dynamic, impactful and weighty but it can sound a little hollow and a touch dry. As a non-professional reviewer, I aim to use simple terms that can be understood by both beginners and experts in the hobby. In practice, the revamped nozzle filters don’t really change the tuning. The S12 siblings sound highly similar, and one would be splitting hairs to hear a significant difference in A/B testing (well, unless you have golden ears).

The cable has a braided design and the wires are protected by a flexible PVC insulation that shows a very low amount of microphonic effect.

TEST TRACK

IEMs with planar drivers handling the bass frequencies generally have rapid bass transients but do not move air or decay as much as traditional DD drivers, which is the case with the S12 Pro. Microdynamics are middling, as the excessive sub-bass masks low-level details and subtle shifts in volume. The treble on the Z12 can be fatiguing at times. Comparisons Vs 7Hz Timeless and TinHiFi P1 Max The midrange is lush with sublime goodness, but are not forward (which for me makes them relaxing) again that also depends on your pairing. The highs are sparkly with great extension but do not get out of line to my ears, no sibilance. Here there is some consistency across amps and DACs, the highs do not change much with power. Furthermore, in classical music such as Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Mozart's "Divertimento in F Major, K. 138" performed by the Quatuor Van Kuijk, I noticed that these IEMs are not super analytical or bright. In fact, for those seeking to gather every tiny detail in their music, they may find themselves wanting a bit more from the S12 PRO. The Timeless are less V-shaped than the S12 Pro, and the former are less bright, with not as deep sub-bass extension. Tonally, the Timeless are slightly warmer.
