No, Milliput isn’t toxic, but it is an irritant, so it’s best to wear gloves when working with it, particularly if you have sensitive skin. If you choose not to wear gloves then wash your hands with soap and water immediately after using it. Can you use Milliput with moulds? If you’ve had a box of Milliput in storage for a while and try to work with it, you may find that it’s very hard to mix and may not harden correctly. Is Milliput toxic? Powder pigment can be mixed in, in small quantities, so that the mixture does not become too dry and crumbly. Strong powder pigment rather than powder paint is better as smaller amounts can be used.

Milliput is an epoxy putty, meaning after you mixed the two components together you only have a limited working time before the putty has hardened to an extent, that will make it impossible to work with it anymore. But what if you still wanted to add a few layers of detail to your sculpture before it hardened? Well, not everything is lost. You can still work a little bit on your sculpture even after it dried. Sanding Milliput Epoxy Putty Correctly In the putty state Milliput, like most chemicals in domestic use, may cause irritation to sensitive skins. When mixing the two components it is advisable to use rubber gloves or throw-away polythene gloves. When rubber gloves have been used wash them immediately after use, and whilst still on the hands, using running water. If the hands have been used for mixing or manipulating Milliput wash them immediately after use with toilet soap and warm water. Different colours can be obtain by cross-mixing or blending from the range of colours that Milliput is available in.
