This method may be better with non-shoe canvas items than with shoes but here are the steps you need to take. First, wash the shoes to get the dirt and other impurities off of it. Let the shoes air dry but leave damp.

Once your shoes have completely dried remove the paper towels and run your shoes under warm water to remove any excess dye. Dyeing can be a messy process, so it’s essential to protect the area where you’ll be working. Cover your workspace with plastic sheets or old newspapers to avoid staining surfaces. 4.
