Scrub Daddy Style Collection–The same original sponge that changes texture with just the help of water, but in a modern grey color. Dye-Free Scrub Daddy–The same Scrub Daddy, just without any dyes or additives. Perfect for very sensitive skin.

Most sponges are made of plant-derived cellulose, plastic-derived polyester, or polyurethane. In our testing, we really enjoyed using the naturally derived sponges from Blueland and Public Goods because they were very gentle and felt markedly different from using a traditional plastic-derived sponge. The plastic and silicone sponges were all stiffer and took longer to soften after moistening. There’s nothing quite like it so we wanted to bring these versatile sponges to Coles stores nationally and help make cleaning a little more easier and fun for the whole family. Scrub Daddy began with an inventive entrepreneur. Aaron Krause originally invented a foaming hand wash, but the idea didn’t take off as anticipated. That idea formed into Scrub Daddy when Aaron tried washing outdoor furniture with the foaming wash and noticed that the texture of the foam changed upon the temperature change. The smiley face was born with intention. The smile is for utensils and the eyes for finger placement for the easiest and best cleaning job. In 2012 Scrub Daddy went on Shark Tank and secured funding. Since then, Scrub Daddy has seen massive growth and can be bought in most major retailers. What Scrub Daddy Products are Available? Scrub Daddy X SpongeBob–This Scrub Daddy has a brand new scent. A delicious pineapple-under-the-sea aroma will fill your area as you start cleaning. It features the same Scrub Daddy smiley face as the original. What Scrub Mommy Products are Available? After each washing, I rang out the sponge and set it on a channeled sink-side sponge holder to help the sponge dry faster and to prevent bacteria from spreading. I evaluated these sponges based on their initial firmness, comfort in hand, and their skill at soaping and scrubbing my dishes, utensils, glassware, and cookware. And strangely enough, though I used to buy the vaguely tan, environmentally ambiguous sponges, using these has actually cut down my sponge waste tremendously. Before, I'd throw my kitchen sponges out every 2 weeks or so, but with this one, I just toss it in some boiling water with a little baking soda, and it's as good as new. I also hear that it's dishwasher-safe, but we've established that isn't a concern for me anymore.

The Iconic Duo – Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy – sponges have developed a cult following in the US for their unique and innovative design which changes texture based on the water temperature,” she said. The company was started in 2006 by Aaron Krause, who initially was looking for a better way to clean his hands — believe it or not. Surprisingly, it wasn't an instant, run-away success, so he moved onto making household sponges instead, using a modified version of his original product. That model wasn't gentle enough for furniture, so he thought, “Well, maybe those hand scrubbers I made would work?” And wouldn’t you know it, they worked fabulously. After that, he started selling the scrubbers on QVC, which led to his appearance on Shark Tank, and everything started falling into place. While its scrubby side was very effective at cleaning baking sheets and saucepans, I felt a little awkward using the soft side of this sponge to clean my glassware. It just doesn't offer the same level of grippiness that cellulose does.

The biggest selling point of the sponge is that it changes texture depending on water temperature. If you use it with cold water, it’s stiff and scrubs grease and grime away with ease. If you use it with hot water, it is malleable and gentle enough for porcelain. It doesn’t hold smells, and it lasts forever. This combination won over the judges, and Krauss was able to build his business. Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. For this guide, I tested each of these sponges for 1 week apiece on my daily pile of dishes. Because I currently work from my apartment, am an avid home cook/baker, and do not own a dishwasher, I wash at least two loads of dishes per day (sometimes three!).

The Scrub Daddy shot to fame in the UK when everyone’s favourite cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch raved about them and their versatility! After you use any type of sponge, it's a good idea to wring it out as thoroughly as you can and leave it on a channeled, elevated surface like a sponge holder to dry. Why is this important? Doing these things will help the sponge dry faster so that it doesn't become a gross breeding ground for bacteria. When your sponge starts smelling and looking dingy, it's best to get rid of it right away. When considering Scrub Daddy and Scrub mommy, there is one major difference. While both sponges resemble the same shape, Scrub Daddy is made entirely of FlexTexture, whereas Scrub Mommy is made of half of FlexTexture and half RexoFoam to create a dual-sided sponge. FlexTexture is a specially designed material that changes texture based on water temperature. ResoFoam is a material that helps the sponge to create more soap suds with less soap. So, when you’re deciding on choosing a Scrub Daddy or a Scrub mommy, it’s really just about how tough of a cleaning job you have at hand. Where did the Scrub Daddy Originate From?

Scrub Mommy–The original Scrub Mommy makes cleaning easy. Simply scrub, flip, and wipe away messes without any hassle. It is safe to use on nearly all household surfaces. It is also both stain and odor resistant. The main difference between Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy sponges is their design and fabrication of them. The Scrub Daddy sponge is made entirely of FlexTexture. This material hardens when immersed in cold water and softens in warm. The Scrub Mommy sponge is made of ½ FlexTexture and ½ ResoFoam. It’s perfect for more demanding cleaning jobs that require more scrubbing. The ResoFoam is designed explicitly for the Scrub Mommy to create more soap suds with less soap detergent. Which Scrub Lasts Longer? Along with its soft, soap-absorbing side, a good kitchen sponge should have a little bit of grittiness to it to help scrub away stubborn gunk on your dishes. This scrubby side differs for every single sponge that we tested, from the pleasantly soft Scotch-Brite to the texture-changing Scrub Mommy to the straight-up sandpaper-like feel of the Skura Sponge. Depending on your comfort level and the type of dishes you most frequently wash by hand, you may want a gentler or rougher sponge than the norm. For this reason, we rated all of our sponges' abrasiveness on a five-point scale with 1 as the least abrasive and 5 as the most abrasive. Scrub Daddy sponges are made of FlexTexture. FlexTexture is a highly engineered material that is exclusive to the brand. Scrub Mommy is a dual-sided sponge. One side is made of FlexTexture, giving the sponge the firm or softness option, and the other side is ResoFoam. The ResoFoam makes the Scrub Mommy lather with less soap detergent needed.
