Description

Place a skillet over low heat. (Alternatively, you can place a heatproof plate over a pot of boiled water.) Connect to the two spheres by either heating one edge of your sphere and connecting it to the other, or by piping some fresh chocolate around the edge of one bowl and adding the two sides together. (see notes) Place the Bailey's Chocolate Chips in a heat-proof bowl and pour the hot Bailey's over the baking chips.

Unmold Spheres: Remove mold from the freezer and carefully remove the chocolate spheres from the mold. Place them on a large plate and store in the fridge. Remove the Bailey’s Ganache from the fridge and use a cookie scoop to portion into 1 1/2″ sized balls. Cream: The cream gives Baileys its luxurious and creamy texture. It’s a crucial component that contributes to the drink’s richness; Ruby Chocolate: A newer variety made from specially processed ruby cocoa beans. It has a pinkish hue and a unique berry-like flavour.

Vegan hot chocolate bombes:

Measure 1 Tablespoon of the mocha hot cocoa mix into half of the chocolate spheres. Add a Bailey’s truffle to the center of the sphere and then surround with a few mini marshmallows, if desired. Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Dried Whole Milk, Cocoa Butter, Glucose Fructose Syrup, Flavourings, Butter Oil (Milk), Cocoa Powder, Water, Vanilla Flavouring, Pork Gelatine, Ant-caking Agent (Maize Starch), Sea Salt, Dextrose, Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin), Tempering chocolate is super simple (we outline the process in the recipe below) and allows your chocolate bombs to stay at room temperature without melting or loosing their shape. Hot chocolate bombs made without tempering chocolate may also not release from the mold. Use a spoon or paintbrush to swirl the chocolate around the entire cavity to form your half chocolate sphere. Melt Edges & Finish Bombs: Heat a small plate in the microwave until warm. Take one empty chocolate sphere and place the rim onto the warm plate to melt the edges.

Gently hold your mold upside down over the bowl with the rest of the melted chocolate to allow excess chocolate to drizzle out. What chocolate is best for hot chocolate bombs?I prefer chocolate melting wafers like these to make our hot chocolate bombs. They are easy to work with, do not require any chopping, and temper beautifully. Once you’ve tried this Baileys Hot Chocolate, there are so many ways to use up a bottle! Here are a few more great popular Baileys drinks: Moulding: Once tempered, the chocolate is poured into moulds to achieve the desired shape. This is the stage where additional ingredients, such as nuts, dried fruits, or flavourings, can be added;

Alternatives to hot chocolate bombes:

Mood Enhancement: Chocolate contains serotonin precursors, which may contribute to feelings of well-being and happiness. It also contains small amounts of caffeine, which can provide a mild energy boost. Pipe melted chocolate: Use leftover melted chocolate. Add to a piping bag or small Ziploc bag. Cut a small hole at the end of the piping bag (or one corner of the Ziploc bag). Squeeze chocolate around the rim of the bottom sphere and simply place the other sphere on top. Using your finger, smooth the chocolate out. (leave as is or add sprinkles or crushed candies)

Use a candy thermometer to test the heat of the chocolate. You don’t want the chocolate to cool too much before you have a chance to add it to your molds, however, you also don’t want it to overheat which causes the chocolate to seize. Ideally it should be around 90 degrees when you use it. Enjoy: To serve, place a hot cocoa bomb in your favorite mug, then pour one cup of hot milk over it. (Or, dunk it into a glass of hot milk!) De-mould the spheres and fill each half with some Baileys chocolate ganache and mini marshmallows, then using some extra dark chocolate, put two halves together and place in the fridge until solid. That’s your Baileys hot chocolate bombs put together! You want a good-quality chocolate that contains cocoa butter to allow it to temper properly. Chocolate chips do not work for this recipe because they have added ingredients that prevent them from melting. Dark Chocolate Chips: These hot cocoa bombs use dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips to create a rich and luscious flavor. I recommend buying high quality chocolate (at least 70% dark or higher) that includes cocoa butter for the best results.

Harvesting Cacao Beans: The journey begins on cacao farms in tropical regions near the equator, where cacao trees bear large pods. Farmers harvest these pods, which contain cacao beans. The beans are extracted from the pods and covered in a sweet, mucilaginous pulp; Chocolate can have both positive and negative effects on health, depending on the type and quantity consumed.
